Job summary

Budget Truck Rental, LLC is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Charlotte, NC to perform routine maintenance and repairs on a range of cargo vans and box trucks. You will work with minimal supervision, potentially assist with warranty repairs, and may travel to customer locations to service vehicles.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of mechanical repair experience, an active CDL, and one ASE certification with ability to gain more within a year.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License Class A, B or C CDL.
• At least 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment.
• 1 ASE certification (ability to acquire 2 additional ASE certifications within first year).
• Knowledgeable in Engine Repair, Drive Train/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
• Willingness to Work Outdoors in all weather conditions and near a mechanical shop with moderate noise.
• Must have a complete set of tools required for auto repair and maintenance.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• On-Site Requirement: This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks: oil changes, lubrication, tire repairs.
• Assist experienced mechanics with complex repairs as needed.
• Travel to vehicle locations to perform repairs and get vehicles back on the road quickly.
• Potentially drive Budget Truck on public roads as required.
