Job summary

MFS Fleet Service in Portland, OR is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to join our on-site team. This full-time role travels to customer locations, diagnoses and repairs diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, and ensures work is completed safely and efficiently with a fully equipped service truck provided.

You will perform routine maintenance, brake and transmission work, diagnose electrical and hydraulic systems, and keep detailed repair records.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a diesel technician.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on automotive diagnostics.
• Familiarity with OEM specifications for various equipment brands, including Caterpillar.
• Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including brake repair, transmission work, alignment, and suspension adjustments.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repair and fabrication work.
• Read and interpret schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic components.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
• Operate heavy equipment as necessary for testing or repair purposes.
• Troubleshoot wiring and electrical issues.
