Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Kyle, TX is seeking an experienced truck technician to service a diverse fleet of cargo vans and box trucks. You’ll perform standard and complex mechanical repairs with minimal supervision, focusing on safety, reliability, and uptime for customers.

The role includes mobile repairs, occasional on-road driving for repair or transport, and the possibility of CDL requirements depending on location.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience performing mechanical repairs on medium- or heavy-duty equipment.
At least 1 ASE certification, with ability to obtain 2 more within the first year.
Valid Driver’s License; CDL may be required depending on location.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in a mechanical shop environment.

Responsibilities

Perform standard and complex mechanical repairs on a fleet of cargo vans and box trucks.
Include preventive maintenance, oil and fluid services, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, electrical diagnostics, and warranty-related repairs.
Mobile repair responsibilities and travel to vehicle locations to diagnose and resolve issues.
May drive Budget Trucks on public roads for repair or transport needs.
Work on newer vehicles across multiple manufacturers using diesel and medium-duty expertise.
