Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking a Refrigeration Technician in Kent, WA to diagnose, overhaul, and repair refrigeration units for commercial trucks and trailers. You will test electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, read complex schematics, and document repairs with accuracy.

A strong emphasis on safety and compliance with Penske policies is required. The role requires 6 years of tractor-trailer maintenance experience, high school diploma or equivalent, and preferred ASE/608/609

Qualifications

• 6 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in the overhaul of refrigeration components required.
• ASE Certification preferred.
• 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of all necessary tools of trade required.
• Current CDL license with air brake certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair refrigeration units on commercial trucks and trailers.
• Test lines, components, and connections using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic equipment.
• Read complex schematics for refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair orders.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area; follow Penske safety policies.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or verify repairs.
• Use hand tools and power tools to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Provide support for preventative maintenance and tractor-trailer maintenance as required.
• Inspect dimensions/clearances to meet factory specs.
