Job summary

Columbus Quarry LLC is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Diesel & Welding Technician to join our maintenance team in Georgia. You will diagnose, repair, and perform precision maintenance on heavy-duty diesel engines and mobile quarry assets, with a focus on preventive maintenance and Ground Engaging Tools.

The role requires welding, fabrication, hydraulic and electrical fault troubleshooting, and a safety-focused approach to keep equipment productive.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent in diesel tech or welding/fabrication.
3+ years diagnosing and repairing heavy diesel trucks or mining/construction equipment.
Valid driver’s license with clean record.
Proficient in stick welding, dual-shield welding, oxy-fuel cutting, and carbon arc gouging.
Ability to read and implement technical manuals and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

Preventive maintenance and G.E.T. management on heavy equipment.
Welding, hardfacing, and repairs on buckets and attachments.
Service and overhaul heavy earthmoving machinery to preserve fleet readiness.
Diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
Lead shop and pit safety practices and document work orders.
Document maintenance activities and learnings in record systems.
Other duties as requested.
