Job description

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
• Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make independent judgments regarding repair solutions.
• Manage parts inventory and reconcile company‑issued service truck supplies.
• Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
• Communicate effectively with clients and customers to assess needs and resolve issues.
• Prioritize concurrent tasks and allocate time efficiently.
• Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
• Document work according to company standards, uploading pictures and parts used to Repair Orders via the TRAIT application.
• Complete DOT forms and all other required documentation promptly.
• Work independently, managing own daily schedule.
• Maintain high productivity and adhere to standard repair times.
• Purchase parts from approved vendors as needed.
• Communicate with management and support for repair estimates and purchase orders.
• Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• At least 3 years of experience working with refrigerated equipment.
• Possession and use of a complete set of hand tools required for the role.
• OEM training and certifications preferred.
• Completion of all company‑required training.
• Ability to pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Current and valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining (or a passed DOT physical if less).
• Minimum age 21 due to interstate operating authority regulations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.

Compensation

Hourly pay ranges from $26.73 to $40.10, varying by location and qualifications. Additional compensation may include commissions and incentive programs.
