Responsibilities

The Mobile Service Technician is responsible for maintaining the fleet for clients and handling service calls at client locations. The technician provides exceptional customer service through activities such as cleaning, maintenance, visual inspections, and removal of parts and attachments. Responsibilities also include installation with proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain all equipment according to company standards.
  • Perform basic truck maintenance, including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and inspections.
  • Manage inventory control on the service truck and ensure proper stocking.
  • Report to the Service Manager and complete assigned duties daily.
  • Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible work schedules.
  • Maintain and inventory tools required for maintaining diesel trucks and equipment.
  • Read job orders, observe vehicle operation, and determine malfunction.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to perform repairs.
  • Diagnose and replace parts such as injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and more.
  • Complete diagnostic and documentation tasks using the company's computer system.
  • Inspect safety devices and make necessary adjustments.
  • Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs through test drives.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
  • Accurately document work performed and submit paperwork timely.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relationships.
  • Advise customers or service writers on upcoming repairs or services.
  • Participate in training and apply learned skills on the job.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid CDL and Medical Card as per FMVSS requirements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
