Job Description
Responsibilities
- Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
- Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with fuel, checking oil, keeping it clean, and performing required inspections.
- Manage inventory control on the service truck and ensure the vehicle is properly stocked.
- Report to the Service Manager and be assigned duties daily.
- Be available for after-hours service calls and maintain an open work schedule.
- Maintain and inventory the tools needed for maintaining diesel engine trucks and related equipment.
- Read job orders and observe vehicle operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
- Use diagnostic equipment and technical information to determine repairs.
- Perform repairs such as removing and replacing injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, brakes, batteries, transmissions, and other parts.
- Complete diagnostic and documentation tasks on the company computer system.
- Inspect safety devices and make necessary adjustments.
- Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs through test drives.
- Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
- Document work performed accurately and timely in the mobile service system.
- Respond to customer inquiries and foster positive relations.
- Advise customers or service writers on future repairs or services.
- Participate in training and apply learned skills on the job.

Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
- Current and valid CDL and Medical card as per FMVSS requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude and technical skills are essential.
