Job summary

FirstLine Road Solutions in California is seeking a skilled Mobile Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment at customer sites or roadside locations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of diesel or heavy‑duty experience, strong knowledge of engines, hydraulics and electrical systems, and proficiency with diagnostic tools; CDL preferred and ability to lift 50+ lbs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a diesel technician or heavy-duty mechanic; mobile experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred; ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic inspections and repairs on Class 6–8 trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment at job sites or roadside.
• Service and repair engines, transmissions, drivetrains, brakes, hydraulics, air systems, electrical systems, suspensions, and DEF systems.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure repairs meet FMCSA and OEM standards.
• Troubleshoot using diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit, CAT ET, Bendix ACom).
• Maintain organized service truck and accurate records of all work performed.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers on estimated repair times and cost.
• Uphold safety standards and adhere to OSHA and DOT regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally in the field.
• All other duties assigned by Supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or ASE certification preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience as a diesel technician or heavy-duty mechanic (mobile experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, etc.).
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CDL preferred).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in all weather conditions.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
