Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is seeking a Relief Dental Assistant for the Mobile Unit in Yakima, WA. You will support dental providers, manage patient records, and help maintain infection control across clinic activities.

The role offers part-time hours, EPIC/EDR usage, and a bilingual differential compensation when ALTA scores are met. Candidates should have a high school diploma and BLS; EFDA or DA/RDA certification is preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Registered Dental Assistant or EFDA certification.
• Surgical Technologist registration if assisting a Dentist in the operating room.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred at a level 10.
• ALTA score 10 eligibility for bilingual differential compensation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records, updating medical history and vital signs as needed.
• Conduct complete patient X-ray procedures (panoramic and cephalometric) and store X-rays in the EDR.
• Set up and record periodontal charting per Provider's instruction.
• Prepare and set up instruments and equipment for patient exams.
• Mix materials with infection control awareness.
• Perform preventative periodontal care (polish, fluoride, sealants).
• Monitor nitrous oxide analgesia under Provider supervision.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene; support school-based programs.
• Assist in infection control program and sterilization.
• Assist in orthodontics as needed (records, models, retainers).
• Ensure compliance with TJC/HRSA/YVFWC requirements.
