Job summary

Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. is seeking a Behavioral Support Specialist in Baltimore, MD to join the CART team and provide person-focused therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and families facing mental health events of varying acuity.

You will contribute to plans of care, conduct assessments, crisis interventions, referrals, and education, while aligning with treatment goals and community resources to support recovery and wellness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or health-related field.
• Experience with troubled youth and crisis response preferred.
• Experience with high acuity mental health crises is preferred.
• Must handle highly charged stressful situations.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license with proof of automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide mobile/urgent care response to children, adolescents and families in Baltimore City via referrals and face-to-face response.
• Provide therapeutic services for individuals in crisis.
• Work with mobile crisis team and community partners to support crisis processes.
• Develop crisis plans and linkages to care for clients in crisis.
• Support continuity of care by connecting clients to behavioral health and community resources.
• Empower individuals to be self-advocates using a strengths-based approach.
• Provide information and referrals to families when direct contact is not possible.
• Attend trainings and meet monthly for supervision.
• Communicate regularly with clinical staff, guardians, and parents.
• Comply with CARF/COMAR/HIPAA/state regulations and EMR documentation standards.
