Job summary

New Mexico Solutions is seeking a Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist in Albuquerque to provide prompt, strength-based crisis assessment and response for individuals with mental illness or substance use disorders. You will work across age groups to support recovery and coordinate with the Mobile Crisis Team to connect clients with resources.

Ideal candidates are compassionate, collaborative, and able to model coping strategies while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to program

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience as a consumer of mental health or substance abuse services is relevant but not required.
• Understanding of recovery concepts encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in articulating personal goals for recovery using crisis intervention tactics.
• Provide individualized guidance, coaching, and support.
• Share knowledge of community resources.
• Assist in developing Person-Centered Crisis/Safety Plans.
• Work with Mobile Crisis Team to coordinate client care.
• Perform after-care follow-up and remind clients of upcoming appointments.
• Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethics and procedures.
• Participate in staff training and supervision.
