Job summary

DESC is seeking a dedicated team member for the Mobile Rapid Response Crisis Team in Seattle. You will respond with a two-person unit to crisis situations, collaborating with Mental Health Professionals and Crisis Outreach Specialists to identify appropriate therapeutic options and next steps while avoiding ERs or jail.

You will maintain follow-up and ensure service connections are made to prevent future crises, supported by DESC’s 45+ years of experience in behavioral health and housing

Qualifications

• Current CPSS credential or trainee (CPSS-T) through WA DOH.
• CACPS training completed or within 90 days of hire.
• Lived experience using behavioral health services or as guardian/parent.
• Ability to drive agency or personal vehicle for work.
• Interest in engaging challenging clients in crisis contexts.
• Strong personal recovery and resilience perspective.
• Cultural humility to work with diverse communities.
• Experience or interest in working with homelessness-affected populations.
• Knowledge of local community resources and pathways to services.
• Experience in outreach, crisis work, or de-escalation.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and linkage to services per Crisis Connections referrals.
• Engage in multi-disciplinary team for assessments and planning.
• Conduct crisis stabilization and follow-up to ensure service connections.
• Develop plans with clients and assist in obtaining needed resources.
• Document data and maintain client records.
• Build relationships with traditional and non-traditional service providers.
• Offer peer recovery support and support client goals.
• Advocate for client access and manage stigma reduction.
• Coordinate with DESC programs to promote recovery and safety.
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and clinical reviews.
