Job summary

New River Valley Community Services is seeking Mobile Crisis Dispatchers to provide phone triages, screening, referrals and support for individuals with Mental Health, Substance Use, ID and Co-Occurring Disorders in the Radford area.

The role includes a $2,500 sign-on bonus and starting salary range of $38,719.41–$44,527.32, depending on experience. Candidates with multilingual abilities may receive additional compensation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or equivalent with at least one year of experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or developmental disabilities is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in education, social work, psychology, or human services related field is preferred.
• Two years PSAP or emergency call taker experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone triages and crisis screening services.
• Offer referrals and support for individuals with mental health, substance use, ID and co-occurring disorders.
• Coordinate with emergency services and assist callers in distress.
