Job summary

MGX Equipment Services in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced crane technician to inspect, diagnose, repair and troubleshoot mobile and lattice cranes. The role requires reading electrical/hydraulic schematics, performing annual inspections, and delivering accurate service reports.

You will operate with safety as a priority, work with a range of Manitowoc/Grove equipment, and provide excellent customer service while following OEM specs. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician.
• Experience with Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks preferred.
• Must be able to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license preferred.
• Required to purchase full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform thorough inspection of cranes to diagnose defects.
• Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; repair hydraulic and electrical components.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Read, understand and interpret operating and parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Test mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and OEM compliance.
• Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
• Fill out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews and expense reports.
• Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.
