Job summary

MGX Equipment Services, located at the Winston Salem, NC branch, seeks a skilled Mechanic/Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair and service mobile cranes, including Grove RT & TMS, GMK, EPIC and National Boom Trucks. You will read schematics, perform inspections and ensure OEM specs are met, with strong focus on safety, customer service and accurate reporting.

The role requires 2+ years' mechanic experience and a valid driver's license (preferred).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician.
• Experience with Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks preferred.
• Must be able to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Must have excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Required to purchase full set of hand tools up to 1.5 inches.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform thorough inspection of cranes to diagnose defects.
• Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; repair hydraulic and electrical components.
• Read and interpret operating and parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Test mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products after repair to ensure OEM specs.
• Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy.
• Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
• Fill out working reports, hours reports, time sheets and expense reports.
• Work independently without direct supervision.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.
