Job summary

The Blue Collar Recruiter of Marietta has a Mobile Crane Field Technician position based in Olathe, KS with relocation available. You will inspect, diagnose and repair a wide range of crane equipment across the Kansas City area, handling various crane types and related systems.

Earn overtime after 8 hours per day, plus quarterly bonuses and a company truck, laptop, and cell phone. The role offers advancement opportunities and strong potential to grow with the client’s global lifting solutions

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as Mobile Crane Mechanic or Technician.
• Working knowledge of crane systems (CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, Greer).
• Strong mechanical skills with electrical/hydraulic experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect cranes to diagnose defects.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic systems.
• Read manuals, blueprints and technical drawings; complete service reports timely.
• Build strong customer relationships and spot new service opportunities.
• Follow safety rules and manufacturer procedures.

What You’ll Do

Every long service call and extended job site day pays more, and with field techs working anywhere from 40 to 80 hours a week, the overtime adds up fast. Strong techs who put in the work can push their earnings well beyond base pay.

As a Mobile Crane Field Technician based out of Olathe, you’ll inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of crane equipment at customer sites across the Kansas City area and the surrounding region. You’ll work on All Terrain, Rough Terrain and Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, Knuckle Booms and Bucket Trucks.

• Operate and inspect cranes to diagnose defects
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic systems
• Work with CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON and Greer systems
• Check parts for damage or wear using micrometers and gauges
• Read operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings
• Test equipment after repair to confirm it runs properly and meets OEM specs
• Prepare for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy
• Complete work orders, time sheets, service reports and expense reports on time
• Build strong customer relationships and spot new service opportunities
• Follow all safety rules, manufacturer procedures and regulations

What You Bring

• 2+ years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic or Technician
• Working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON and Greer systems
• Strong mechanical skills with electrical and hydraulic experience
• Ability to work on your own without direct supervision
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Willingness to travel periodically for 1 to 4 day trips
• Weekend availability is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, CDL preferred

Preferred Equipment Experience

Grove RT and TMS cranes, Grove GMK, Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Demag, Manitex, National, Palfinger, IMT, Cormach and similar mobile crane equipment.
