Job summary

The Manitowoc Company is seeking a MGX Field Crane Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain mobile cranes and boom trucks at the Lee's Summit, MO branch. This role reports to the Service Manager and offers a clear training path and competitive hourly pay.

Key benefits include a $4,500 sign-on bonus after 90 days, a tool reimbursement program up to $1,500 per year, and relocation assistance where eligible. Overtime and travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.
  • Must have a mechanical background and related experience with electrical and hydraulics; and be able to read both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Must have experience in preventative maintenance and light equipment repair (i.e. oil changes, brake jobs, etc.)
  • May be required to travel to job sites and for training up to 50% of the time.
  • Excellent communication skills with a customer/client focus.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Experience working with different forms of mobile crane and/or heavy equipment is a plus.

Job Description

MGX Field Crane Technicians are responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes and boom trucks. This position will be located at the Lee's Summit, branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager.

  • Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days continuous service; and be eligible for our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year. Relocation assistance may also be available to those who qualify.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.

Pay & Training

This position offers a pay range between $25.00 - $45.00 per hour depending on skills and qualifications for non-bargaining employees. Pay is provided on a bi-weekly basis and there are 14 days in the pay period, beginning on a Monday and ending on a Sunday.

A customized training plan and career path is identified for each technician and provided within the first week of employment, outlining growth and advancement opportunities.
