Job description

Ready to Solve Tough Crane Challenges?

If methodical diagnostics, precise repairs, and customer conversations energize you, MGX wants you in our shop. As a Mobile Crane Systems Maintenance Specialist, you’ll partner with the Service Manager and our service team to keep mobile cranes and boom trucks operating to OEM specs—safely, reliably, and on schedule.Imagine ThisA Grove GMK arrives with intermittent electrical faults. You pull the schematics, map the circuitry, and isolate a failing sensor. After replacement, you run hydraulic, electrical, and functional tests to validate performance. You document every step, complete the time sheet and expense report, and walk the customer through the fix. Then you pivot to an annual inspection on a Manitowoc lattice crane, measuring wear with micrometers and gauges, and flagging parts required for a proactive repair.

Your Impact
  • Operate and thoroughly inspect cranes to uncover defects before they become downtime.
  • Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes, including hydraulic and electrical components.
  • Read and interpret OEM manuals, parts catalogs, blueprints, and technical drawings to plan and execute work.
  • Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic systems after repair/modification to ensure OEM compliance.
  • Prepare jobs by confirming parts and drawings are correct and complete.
  • Perform accurate annual inspections and maintain meticulous documentation.
  • Complete working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews, and expense reports without error.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while providing outstanding customer service.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • High School Diploma or GED; two (2)+ years as a Crane Mechanic/Technician preferred.

  • Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics fluently.
  • Clear communicator with a customer/client focus.
