Job summary

WISCO Inc. is seeking a skilled Mobile Crane Operator to join our team in Williston, ND. This role operates mobile cranes on oilfield sites and company yards, requiring a safety‑driven, dependable candidate with heavy equipment experience.

You will coordinate with riggers and drivers, perform pre/post inspections, follow load charts and DOT regulations, and transport cranes using a Class A CDL. NCCCO certification is required. Must lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• NCCCO Crane Operator Certification or equivalent license.
• Minimum 2 years of crane operating experience, oilfield preferred.
• Strong understanding of crane load charts, rigging and lift safety.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position tanks and equipment on sites.
• Inspect and maintain cranes and rigging before and after use.
• Follow load charts, lift plans, and safety/DOT regulations.
• Coordinate with riggers, drivers, and crews for safe lifts.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document results.
• Transport cranes and equipment to sites using a Class A CMV.
• Assist with general oilfield operations and yard work.
• Follow OSHA and site oilfield safety protocols.
• Attend pre-job safety meetings and report hazards.

Summary:

Working in an Oilfield setting, one in this position operates mobile cranes to lift, move, and position heavy equipment and materials on well sites and company yards. One must be safety-focused, dependable, and experienced in oilfield or heavy equipment operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate mobile cranes to safely lift, move, and position tanks, equipment, and materials on job sites.
• Inspect and maintain cranes and rigging gear before and after each use.
• Calculate load weights and follow load charts, lift plans, and all applicable safety and DOT regulations.
• Work closely with riggers, truck drivers, and field crews to complete lifts efficiently and safely.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and complete required documentation.
• Transport cranes and equipment to and from job sites using a Class A commercial vehicle.
• Assist with general oilfield operations and yard duties as needed.
• Adhere strictly to safety standards, both general (OSHA or equivalent) and site-specific oilfield safety protocols.
• Participate in pre-job safety meetings and report any hazards or incidents promptly and practice Stop Work when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record (required)
• NCCCO Crane Operator Certification or equivalent state-recognized crane license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of crane operating experience (oilfield experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of crane load charts, rigging, and lift safety practices
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
