Job summary

Colony Tire in Plymouth, NC is seeking a full-time Commercial Service Tire Technician to repair, replace, and service commercial tires on customer vehicles at Colony Tire locations, customer sites, and roadside calls.

Qualifications

• Mechanical knowledge of tire service equipment, tools, and procedures.
• Ability to operate shop tools safely and effectively.
• Active listening to understand instructions and communicate with team.
• Monitor equipment and identify issues or malfunctions.
• Manage time to complete tasks within expected timeframes.
• Physical ability to bend, lift, and move heavy objects up to 100+ pounds.
• Proficient with hand and pneumatic tools, jacks, and hoists.
• Operate forklifts and commercial vehicles as required.
• Strong problem solving to resolve issues efficiently.
• Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials for defects.
• Perform physical activities including climbing, lifting, and manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain valid driver’s license for operated vehicles and meet CDL requirements if relevant.
• Inspect tires and wheels before/after service per safety procedures.
• Identify repairable tire conditions and perform approved repairs.
• Document all work per company policies.
• Safely bolt/unbolt wheels with hand and power tools.
• Mount/dismount tires on various rim types and match configurations.
• Inflate tires to correct specifications.
• Balance wheels and apply counterweights.
• Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects.
• Safely move vehicles in/out of shop and at customer sites.
