Job summary

Colony Tire Corporation in New Bern, NC is seeking a full-time Commercial Tire Technician. The role focuses on safe repair, replacement, and service of commercial tires on customer vehicles at locations, sites, and roadside calls.

Must have strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety in varied indoor/outdoor environments. Responsibilities include tire inspection, tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balancing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to perform essential duties with safety and quality.
• Ability to operate shop equipment and tools safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a valid driver’s license for the vehicles operated and meet CD qualifications.
• Inspect tires and wheels before and after service.
• Identify repairable tire conditions and perform approved repairs.
• Review work orders and communicate job details with supervisors and team members.
• Accurately document all work performed per company policy.
• Safely unbolt and re-bolt wheels using hand and power tools.
• Mount and dismount tires on various rims and configurations.
• Identify tire specs and inflate to proper size, ply, and load.
• Balance wheels and apply counterweights as needed.
• Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects from tires.
• Safely move vehicles in and out of shops and customer sites.
