Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled HVAC Truck Based Serviceman to service and maintain commercial HVAC systems across healthcare, education, and CRE sectors. This field-based role focuses on commissioning, diagnostics, and delivering reliable comfort while communicating clearly with customers.

The position requires two years of HVAC trouble-shooting experience, EPA Universal certification, a valid license, and willingness to join the UA. Benefits and union alignment are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of commercial/industrial mechanical troubleshooting in HVAC.
• Knowledge of three-phase commercial HVAC equipment, RTUs, heat pumps and fans.
• Valid driver’s license and EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
• Strong verbal and written communication; safety program adherence.

Responsibilities

• Commission, service, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment in the field.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement on heating/cooling systems.
• Consult with customers on comfort, efficiency, and service issues.
• Assist Journeymen with repair of centrifugal, absorption, screw, and scroll chillers.
• Prepare labor/material quotes and partake in rotating call-out duties.
