Job summary

Gibson Area Hospital & Health Services is seeking a part-time Registrar/Certified Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant for the Gibson City mobile unit. The role includes patient registration, data entry, basic CLIA-waived testing, and coordination with physicians and support staff.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and ensuring proper documentation in Meditech. Requires high school diploma, phlebotomy/ CPR credentials, and computer literacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Illinois Class D driver’s license or ability to obtain before operating a GAH courier vehicle.
• Must pass competency for CLIA waived testing, venipunctures, drug screens and related duties.
• Proficient in mathematics for medications, vital signs, and measurements.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; ICD-9, CPT, HCPC coding recommended.
• Current CPR certification or ability to achieve within six months of hire.
• Trained and/or certified in phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of patients’ rights.

Responsibilities

• Check equipment at start and end of shift to ensure readiness.
• Greet patients, collect information, and verify insurance details.
• Check-in patients using Meditech electronic records and verify demographics.
• Collect co-pays and process payments; issue receipts and deposits.
• Schedule physician and nurse practitioner appointments as needed.
• Maintain infection control standards; clean and restock exam rooms.
• Document patient information and test results in the system.
