Job summary

LaFontaine Ford Lansing is seeking an Automotive Mobile Service Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance in a mobile setting. The role includes a tiered pay plan, longevity bonus, and on-the-job training, with opportunities for career growth and industry certifications.

You will diagnose and repair Ford vehicles on-site, maintain mobile equipment, and communicate clearly with customers about services and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Customer satisfaction focus and professional demeanor.
• High school diploma or GED required; trade school training preferred.
• Ford or OEM certifications are a plus; Michigan state certifications are a plus.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of experience as an automotive technician; Ford experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage a mobile schedule.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform light vehicle maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, battery replacements, inspections, etc.) at off-site locations.
• Perform manufacturers safety, emissions, and recalls.
• Accurately diagnose and repair Ford vehicles using OEM tools and equipment.
• Maintain mobile service vehicle inventory and cleanliness.
• Communicate clearly with customers about services performed and future recommendations.
• Use diagnostic tools and mobile service software to update job status and complete work orders.
• Represent the dealership professionally at all times.
