Job summary

Glass America in Durham, NC is seeking an Auto Glass Technician to replace windshields and glass in vehicles. The role covers in-shop and mobile installations with a focus on safety, quality, and timely service.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 4-6 years of related experience, a valid drivers license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds while standing for long periods. The position offers full-time hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 4-6 years of related work experience required.
• Must possess a valid drivers license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time during installation.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling glass.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Mechanical aptitude and the skill to operate hand and power tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installs auto glass in-shop or on a mobile basis.
• Uses proper tools and techniques for efficient installation.
• Completes required paperwork and submits to the appropriate person or location.
• Maintains a safe driving record per company policy.
• May perform auto glass repairs as needed.
• Loads glass in the truck.
• Reports problems to the Glass Manager.
• Maintains high quality control.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Ensures equipment operates properly.
• Reports accidents/incidents to the Glass Manager.
• Follows company policies and procedures.
• Maintains good rapport with supervisors and co-workers.
