Job summary

Southern Company Services is seeking an experienced Developer II, Application for Field Technology (Mobile) to design and develop custom apps for the Mobile, EnRoute, and Rolling Office portfolio, supporting Field Resources and Southern Company Gas customers. The role requires deep technical expertise in Field Technology and delivery of both new apps and enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and development principles.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies like .NET, C#, and SQL.
• Experience with frontend platforms Angular and React.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Agile delivery; Kanban; Scrum.
• Experience with ITIL processes and various programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions prioritizing use of COTS systems where possible.
• Create and modify Technical Design documents.
• Collaborate with teams to plan coding and overall development.
• Translate specifications into code meeting performance requirements.
• Modify existing software to fix errors and improve interfaces.
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and improve software.
• Plan system testing and deployment activities.
• Develop technical solutions for complex problems with deep expertise.
• Provide on-call support and mentor less experienced staff.
• Communicate effectively with partners and peers at all levels.
