Job summary

Westport Properties, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Roving Apartment Maintenance Technician to support a growing maintenance team across multiple properties in the Topeka area.

You’ll travel between communities to perform repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring units are safe, clean, and ready for residents. The role emphasizes general maintenance skills across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and more.

Qualifications

• General maintenance skills across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, flooring and painting.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• EPA and HVAC certifications preferred or willing to obtain.
• Able to lift, shovel and move across multiple properties.

Responsibilities

• Travel to different properties to handle maintenance and repairs.
• Tackle HVAC, plumbing, electrical, doors, flooring, landscaping and more.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager for smooth operations.
• Prepare units for new residents and perform regular upkeep on existing ones.
• Stay on-call occasionally (about one week every 8 weeks).
• Maintain maintenance logs and assist with snow removal during winter.
