Classification: MnSCU Academic Supervisor 3

Employment Type: Unlimited, Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM; flexible with up to two remote days per week (if applicable)

Salary Range: Hourly from $37.60 to $54.16; Annually from $78,509 to $113,086 (dependent on education and experience)

About the Position

The Director administers and manages academic support for students with disabilities at Normandale Community College, overseeing programs like Office for Students with Disabilities, Title IX Pregnant and Parenting Civil Rights law, and Make-Up Testing services. Responsibilities include supervising programs, understanding, and implementing federal and state laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 Rehabilitation Act, and Title IX. The role supports the college’s strategic goals for equity and cultural responsiveness.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Four years’ experience providing services to postsecondary students with disabilities; a Bachelor’s degree can substitute for one year of experience.
  • Expert knowledge of federal, state, and local disability laws.
  • Experience reviewing disability documentation and advocating for students.
  • Skills in managing difficult situations involving students, parents, staff, and faculty.
  • Supervision, training, budget management, and program development skills.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility and content.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Over five years’ experience in postsecondary disability services.
  • Experience supervising college support services and working with diverse populations.
  • Experience with strategic planning, program assessment, and developing collaborative relationships.
Additional Requirements

Must be available to work in the U.S. upon employment start; background check required. No H-1B sponsorship available.
