Jamestown Healing Clinic is seeking a MMU Dispensing Nurse II-RN to join our mobile healthcare team serving rural and underserved communities throughout Clallam County, Washington.This part-time position is scheduled Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–1:30 PM and provides medication dispensing and nursing services through our Mobile Medication Unit (MMU). The Dispensing Nurse II-RN administers medications as ordered by medical providers, maintains accurate medication records, and ensures the safe handling and accountability of medications in compliance with DEA, FDA, Washington State Board of Pharmacy, and JHC requirements.The ideal candidate brings strong clinical skills, compassion, sound judgment, and an understanding of substance use disorders and the unique needs of the communities we serve.Essential FunctionsAdminister Methadone or Buprenorphine/Naloxone or Monotherapy Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex) as ordered by the Medical Director and staff providers.Maintain accurate accounting of all medication received (from supplier) and dispensed (to the patient).Responsible for the safekeeping of all medication stock and the records required by the DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, and JHC.Conducts breath alcohol testing, urine collection and processing, reading test results as needed; ensures accurate completion of all forms documenting these procedures.Works within scope of license to include measure and record patients' vital signs, nursing-level physical assessment, patient care or treatment (to include wound care), and patient education.Assess patient physical condition, reporting observations to providers either verbally or in writing.Alert treatment staff of any observed changes in patient status.Enter and update prescriptions and medications in the patient’s electronic health record.Accurately chart patient encounters and patient incidents within the required guidelines.Record all inter-agency communications relating to the patient in a timely manner upholding all applicable guidelines.Explain the proper use of dispensed medication and its effects to patients.Maintain current statistical records.Sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave.Adhere to all JHC policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, and work practices as described in the Occupational Exposure Control Plan and HIPAA.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsGraduation from an accredited school of nursing; current RN license in the state of Washington; unrestricted license to practice within the state of Washington.Three years of experience in a clinic setting.Previous substance abuse treatment and/or primary care experience.Knowledge of the current medical practices in primary care, mental health, and addiction medicine.Knowledge of substance use disorders and their effects on individuals, families, and communities.Phlebotomy skills.Experience working with patients in observing and obtaining urine specimens.Exceptional personal and ethical boundaries, empathy, and effective communications skills.Ability to work in a cross-culture environment, understands the social and cultural context of the patients at the JHC. Understands the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal experience in wellness and recovery.Flexibility may be required to accommodate some evenings and weekend work around the MMU schedule; some work may also be conducted at JHC primary site in Sequim, WA.Understands and adheres to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2). Applicants must always conduct self ethically and professionally.Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.Strong computer and electronic medical record (EMR) skills.Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.Uphold all current vaccine requirements for employment.Ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned.Valid Washington State Driver’s License.Preferred QualificationsCPR/First Aide Certification (if not currently a certification holder, will complete employer provided training upon hire).Experience and knowledge of Epic and/or Methasoft EMR.Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal Laws and Regulations.Knowledge of office administrative operations, including personnel management, and compliance.Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Demonstrate initiative, work independently with little supervision.American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply.Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsSignificant drive time in the MMU that requires sitting in a moving vehicle up to four (4) hours per day.MMU requires preparation for unit set-up and take down that may include lifting and carrying items.Due to weather conditions, there are times the MMU may be unusually hot or cold while providing healthcare services.Must be available to work any shift (to include all hours, weekends, and/or holidays as job duties require).Must be able to lift, push and carry up to 25 lbs. unassisted.Physical ability to climb in and out of the MMU and access all areas of the MMU that includes working in tight and narrow spaces.Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing, squatting and twisting without restriction.Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity; ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.Must have the ability to reach at or below/above shoulder level on a continuous basis.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with patients, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.Join Our TeamThis is an opportunity to bring your nursing expertise directly into the communities that need it most.
