Job summary

Therapeutic Health Services is seeking a Mobile Medication Transport Specialist (MMU) to deliver safe, timely transport for MMU staff and patients across local communities. You will assist with vehicle operations, ensure readiness, and maintain confidentiality while providing excellent customer service.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years driving in urban areas, a valid WA driver’s license, and First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience in urban, high-traffic areas.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license with clean record in last 3 years.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with patients, staff, and community members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer proficiency for vehicle-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive the Mobile Medication Unit to scheduled service areas and ensure passenger safety.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle readiness before and after transport.
• Assist MMU staff with setup, breakdown, and operation of vehicle systems.
• Respond to patient and community inquiries in a friendly, professional manner; protect confidentiality.
• Uphold safety and security protocols for patients and the MMU, including crowd control if needed.
• Monitor and report vehicle malfunctions and safety concerns; ensure cameras and alarms are functional.
• Follow THS policies and complete required paperwork and incident reports promptly.

As a Mobile Medication Transport Specialist (MMU), you'll play a critical role in delivering essential services to our local communities. You'll ensure the safe and efficient transport of MMU staff to designated locations, assist with vehicle operations, and provide excellent customer service to patients and community members.

REPORTS TO: Chief of Staff

Schedule: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM Thursday, Friday, Saturday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Safe and Timely Transportation:?

a. Safely drive the Mobile Medication Unit to scheduled service areas, ensuring the safety of all passengers and timely arrival at each location.

b. Be responsible for the vehicle's readiness before and after transport.

2. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections:?

a. Conduct routine vehicle inspections, including checks of tire pressure, fluid levels, and safety equipment.

b. Perform basic maintenance tasks (e.g., refuel, monitor security systems, empty waste tanks) to ensure the MMU is always in optimal working condition.

3. Support MMU Operations:?

a. Assist the MMU staff with operational tasks on the vehicle, including setup, breakdown, and ensuring the vehicle’s various systems are functional (e.g., medical equipment, security systems).

4. Patient & Community Engagement:?

a. Be available to answer inquiries from patients, family members, and community members in a friendly, professional manner.

b. Provide accurate information about services and resources, while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

5. Safety & Security Protocols:?

a. Uphold safety protocols around the MMU, ensuring the safety and confidentiality of all patients.

b. Respond to incidents as necessary, including de-escalating tense situations and following established procedures for crowd control and safety.

6. Reporting & Incident Management:

a. Monitor and report any vehicle malfunctions, technical issues, or safety concerns.

b. Ensure the smooth operation of vehicle-related systems, including security cameras, panic buttons, and communication devices.

7. Compliance & Professionalism:?

a. Follow all THS policies and procedures, including those related to safety, confidentiality, and conduct.

b. Complete all required paperwork and incident reports promptly.

c. Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, public health guidelines, and professional standards.

8. Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, & HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, particularly in urban areas with heavy traffic. Experience with driving larger vehicles (e.g. vans, RVs) is preferred.

3. Valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record and no history of major traffic violations within the last three years.

4. Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire).

5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with patients, staff, and community members.

6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

7. Basic computer proficiency and ability to assist in vehicle-related technical tasks.

8. A positive and proactive attitude, with a strong commitment to professionalism and patient confidentiality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to converse with and listen to people in many different settings

Ability to use a computer and telephone, as well as other standard office equipment

Mobility requirements may involve navigating various work areas, including stairs or ramps.

Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift, and/or carry supplies up to 25 pounds

Work takes place in a social services environment where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, and standing (with accommodations provided for specific positions).

Travel to program sites and meetings outside the site and around the county are necessary

Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs
