Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist (MLT/MT) to perform a broad range of laboratory procedures across blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology and related testing.

The candidate should have an associate or bachelor degree in applied science and be eligible for national certification; active certification is preferred. New grads welcome to apply along with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires an accredited degree in a relevant life sciences field with clinical training.
• Certification by a recognized agency is preferred; eligibility to be certified is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory procedures with established protocols across departments (blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology).
• Operates with independent judgment to ensure accurate testing and result reporting.

Education

Associate or Bachelor Degree in applied science for medical laboratory technology, biology, chemistry, or related science

Registered by a nationally recognized certification agency or registry; active certification preferred

• Performs laboratory procedures using established and approved protocols that require moderate to broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility.
• Medical Laboratory Technicians or Medical Laboratory Scientists perform a broad range of laboratory procedures or may be specialized in areas of blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology and laboratory send out reference testing

Qualifications

MLT/MT Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor Degree in applied science for medical laboratory technology, biology, chemistry, or related science with a year of clinical training in an accredited school of medical technology.
• Must be registered by a nationally recognized certification agency or registry eligible. Active certification preferred.
