Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform a broad range of laboratory procedures in a structured clinical setting.

The position requires an Associate or Bachelor degree in medical laboratory technology or related science, with clinical training and current or eligible certification. This role supports multiple specialties, with an emphasis on accurate, timely results and adherence to approved protocols.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor Degree in applied science for medical laboratory technology, biology, chemistry, or related science with a year of clinical training in an accredited school of medical technology.
• Must be registered by a nationally recognized certification agency or registry eligible. Active certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory procedures using established and approved protocols that require moderate to broad exercise of independent judgment and responsibility.
• Medical Laboratory Technicians or Medical Laboratory Scientists perform a broad range of laboratory procedures or may be specialized in areas of blood banking, chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology and laboratory send out reference testing

Education

Bachelor or Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or related science

Registered or eligible for registration by a recognized certifying agency
