Job summary

LanceSoft is seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join a community hospital laboratory in southern Minnesota. The position offers a consistent 4-day work week, with a 10:00 AM–8:30 PM schedule and 40 hours per week, providing autonomy and meaningful patient care.

Responsibilities include routine and complex testing, phlebotomy, blood bank work, results reporting, instrument maintenance, and collaboration with clinicians.

Qualifications

• MLT or MLS degree required or appropriate academic equivalent.
• ASCP certification as MLT or MLS is required.
• BLS certification required at submission time.
• Minimum 5 years of laboratory experience preferred and phlebotomy/blood bank experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing following procedures.
• Conduct specimen collection and phlebotomy services.
• Perform blood bank testing and transfusion-related procedures.
• Analyze, verify and report accurate laboratory results.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Document results in the EMR and ensure QA compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to support patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
