Job summary

UK King’s Daughters Laboratory Services seeks an MLT In Training for an on-site evening shift. You will perform chemical analyses of body fluids, verify results, and support quality control, while assisting in training new staff. The role offers growth toward ASCP certification within a year.

Qualifications

We’re more than just a place to work; we’re a place to grow, thrive, and contribute to our community.**Job Description**:**MLT In Training****Job Summary**Performs medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease by performing required duties and responsibilities.**Essential Functions**• Conducts chemical analyses of body fluids to determine normal and abnormal components.• Analyzes and verifies test results before releasing findings.• Performs quality control studies and routine preventative maintenance according to protocols.• Conducts equipment checks as scheduled.• Performs STAT testing within established turnaround guidelines.• Responds to queries from hospital care team members courteously and promptly.• Assists in the orientation and training of new laboratory employees.• Maintains professional growth and required certification.• Reports equipment or computer malfunctions to supervisor immediately.• Performs other duties as assigned.**Education Requirement**60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that, at a minimum, include either -* 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or* 24 semester hours of science courses that include-* Six semester hours of chemistry; and* Six semester hours of biology; and* Twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination.**Experience Requirement**MLT in Training position will be for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 1 year.All experience must be paid and in the same related field.Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week.Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.**Certifications & Licensures**Within 6 months, the candidate must complete training in at least one department within the laboratory.
