Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group in Mason City, IA is seeking a full-time Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform and report tests with precision, verify results, and maintain quality control.

The role includes specimen collection, instrument maintenance, adherence to CLIA and HIPAA, and collaboration with the lab team on process improvements. Evening shift schedule (Thu-Wed, 7 days on 7 days off) is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in medical technology or related science required.
• MLS/MT (ASCP) registry required or completed within two years of hire.
• Prior experience in clinical laboratory preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports all assigned tests with precision and accuracy.
• Maintains, calibrates, and repairs equipment with accurate records.
• Records all required quality control results.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the assigned area.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection as required.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Trains colleagues on standard work practices and monitors compliance.
• Participates in evaluating new procedures and equipment.
