Job summary

Mass General Brigham is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for a night shift at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, on-site in Boston. The role involves performing both waived and non-waived testing under CLIA with supervision, ensuring accurate results and proper documentation.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Technology or Laboratory Sciences degree with ASCP-BOC certification and at least 2 years of lab experience, readiness to supervise daily operations, quality control, and inventory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology required or Bachelor's Degree Laboratory Sciences required
• Clinical Laboratory Certifications required (ASCP or equivalent)
• Experience: 2 years lab experience required
• Must meet licensure/credential requirements as specified by ASCP-BOC

Responsibilities

• Follow CLIA procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis, reporting and recordkeeping.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient samples.
• Adhere to QC policies and maintenance of instruments and calibrations.
• Follow corrective action policies when test systems fail.
• Identify problems affecting test performance and report to supervisor or director.
• Document corrective actions for deviations in performance specifications.
