Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Carmel, IN is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist I for a Monday–Friday schedule with 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM hours and rotating weekend shifts. Candidates should have a BS in Medical Technology or related field or an equivalent degree and experience; there is potential for performance-based bonuses and shift

Qualifications

• Education requirements as listed: BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or an Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
• Maintain records showing proficiency testing samples are tested like patient specimens.
• Analyze specimens using approved testing procedures.
• Review and release test results.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.
• Follow policies and procedures when test systems are outside established performance levels.
• Identify problems affecting test performance or reporting and notify senior staff.

BS in Medical Technology or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology or Associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493
