Job summary

Wayve is seeking an ML Software Engineer to join the MEGA team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will design and build software systems enabling MEGA's ML research, including scalable pipelines, data and training infrastructure, and reusable tools for researchers.

You will work near models and data on large-scale video and robotics datasets, using modern ML frameworks and building robust workflows and reusable infrastructure to support multiple ML projects.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering skills with high-quality, maintainable code.
• Experience building and maintaining ML pipelines or infrastructure.
• Design software systems that are reliable and evolvable.
• Hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks and understanding ML workflows.
• Strong debugging across complex ML systems.
• Experience with testing, code quality and shared codebase practices.
• Experience with large datasets or large models.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ML pipelines for data ingestion, model training, evaluation, and related workflows.
• Build software systems that scale ML workloads to larger datasets and models.
• Develop clean interfaces between data, models, training, evaluation, and robotics workflows.
• Own and improve MEGA codebase health, architecture, testing, and standards.
• Identify and resolve performance, reliability, and usability bottlenecks in ML workflows.
• Build infrastructure supporting multiple researchers and ML projects without slowing iteration.
• Translate researchers' requirements into practical software solutions.
• Build and use distributed training and data-processing pipelines for large models and multimodal data.
