Job summary

Wayve in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Research Scientist to join the Multi-Embodiment Generalist Agent (MEGA) team as a founding member. You will help build foundation models for general-purpose robots, enabling perception, reasoning, and action across diverse embodiments.

You will design architectures, run experiments on robotic platforms, and collaborate with researchers, ML engineers and hardware teams to translate research into robust, real-world capabilities and compelling robot

Qualifications

• Experience in machine learning with focus on vision-language models, video models, robot policies, or related foundation-model work.

Responsibilities

• Research architectures, data and learning for robot foundation models.
• Design and evaluate models like VLAs, WAMs, omni-modal and video models for robotics.
• Develop learning methods including RL and behavioural cloning for robot policies.
• Curate large-scale video datasets for training and evaluation.
• Build scalable distributed training pipelines for large models and datasets.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers and robotics teams to apply research to real-world robot performance.
• Communicate findings internally and contribute to external publications and Wayve’s presence.
