Job summary

Workday Government is seeking a Sr. SDE to join our DevOps and ML platform teams in the DMV area. You’ll design and implement scalable, containerized services, automate pipelines, and collaborate with ML engineers to deploy runtime inference workloads.

Expect to work across public clouds, IaC, Kubernetes, and GitOps tooling, with on-call rotations and security clearance requirements. The role emphasizes reliability, performance, and continual improvement in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional DevOps experience including infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipeline development.
• 5+ years of experience with Python programming and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Developing frameworks, automation, and tooling to foster efficiency and innovation.
• Apply technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and Python to enhance developer scalability for ML Runtime Inference applications.
• Implement and operate distributed software development lifecycle activities for maintaining apps, frameworks, or components.
• Develop products and services that empower developers to streamline their interactions with the ML platform.
• Work with public clouds (AWS, GCP) and apply capacity management principles.
• Deploy and orchestrate containers in production using Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and related tools.
• Collaborate with Tech Leads and ML Engineers to elaborate requirements and drive solutions.
• Own and develop features end-to-end including infrastructure as code.
• Research and adopt new ML tools for reliability and scale.
• Proactively address issues, automate processes, and enable self-service for productivity.
• On-call availability on a rotation basis.
