Job summary

Waymo is seeking a researcher for its AI Foundations team, reporting to a Senior Research Scientist. The role focuses on advancing embodied AI through cutting-edge robotics and machine learning research and collaboration across teams to deploy innovations in production.

You will develop ML recipes, work with large-scale data and evaluation pipelines, and contribute to state-of-the-art Foundation Models, with a strong Python and DL framework background.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in CS, ML, robotics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend cutting-edge research in robotics and ML to advance state‑of‑the‑art recipes for embodied AI agents.
• Partner within and across organizations to land disruptive and innovative tech in production.
• Work with a variety of state-of-the-art Foundation Models.
• Drive model development via data, eval, and systems.
• Implement and extend large-scale data and evaluation pipelines.
