Job summary

Waymo is seeking a hybrid-role researcher to advance embodied AI through cutting-edge robotics and machine learning. You will develop state-of-the-art recipes and partner with internal teams to land innovations in production.

You will work with various Foundation Models and drive model development using data, evaluation, and scalable systems. The role requires a Master’s in a technical field, strong Python skills, and experience with modern DL frameworks.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, ML, robotics or related field.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Familiarity with modern deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow).
• Experience in an industrial or research setting developing ML model recipes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend cutting-edge research in robotics and machine learning to advance state-of-the-art recipes for embodied AI agents.
• Partner within and across organizations to land disruptive and innovative tech in production.
• Work with a variety of state-of-the-art Foundation Models.
• Drive model development via data, evaluation, and systems.
• Implement and extend large-scale data and evaluation pipelines.
