Job summary

Amgen invites undergrad students to join as a Machine Learning Engineer intern for Summer 2027. You will contribute to scalable data pipelines and ML model workflows across the data lifecycle, working with engineers and scientists to generate insights for biopharma applications.

You will gain hands-on experience in Python/R data manipulation, ML tooling, and cloud platforms, while participating in agile teams and applying statistical methods.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor's Degree program with a 3.0 GPA or higher

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, development, and testing of scalable data pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
• Collaborate with data engineers and scientists to clean, prepare, and analyze structured and unstructured data
• Support the development and automation of model training, evaluation, and deployment pipelines
• Explore pharmaceutical commercial datasets for data-driven insights
• Design informative visualizations and dashboards for internal stakeholders
• Learn and apply statistical techniques including hypothesis testing, regression, and classification
• Collaborate on implementing and monitoring ML models in production environments
• Document technical processes, models, and tools
• Experiment with new tools and techniques in data engineering and ML operations (MLOps)
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives
