Job summary

Amgen is offering an Undergrad Intern – Machine Learning Engineer in Technology, AI & Data for Summer 2027. The role focuses on designing, developing, and testing scalable data pipelines and ML model workflows to support data ingestion, transformation, and analytics across enterprise data lakes and warehouses.

You will collaborate with data engineers and scientists, apply Python/R for data manipulation, and contribute to dashboards and ML production environments while learning cutting-edge tools

Qualifications

• Expected completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing.
• Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program.
• Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program.
• Must be available to work a full‑time schedule.
• Must be available to accept and commit to future full-time employment by July 2028, if offered

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test scalable data pipelines for data ingestion and transformation from multiple data sources into enterprise data lakes and warehouses.
• Clean, prepare, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and automate model training, evaluation, and deployment pipelines.
• Explore and analyze pharmaceutical commercial datasets for data‑driven insights.
• Create visualizations and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate on implementing and monitoring ML models in production environments.
• Document technical processes, models, and tools.
• Experiment with new tools and techniques in data engineering and ML operations (MLOps).
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and retrospectives to understand team workflow
