Uber’s Consumer Incentives team is seeking a Software Engineer II - Machine Learning Engineer in Seattle, WA. You’ll own end-to-end ML projects—from scoping and offline evaluation to experimentation, deployment, and post-launch maintenance—with collaboration across product, operations, and data science teams.

The role emphasizes building scalable AI/ML systems and distributed infrastructure to impact hundreds of millions of users globally.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an AI/ML/optimization role, or a PhD in CS, OR, EE, Statistics, etc.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional partners.
• A strong sense of ownership to carry projects end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Launch products that support key consumer experience and business outcomes.
• Drive projects through full lifecycle: scoping, offline evaluation, experiments, production deployment, post-launch maintenance.
• Design, tune, and improve systems and algorithms at scale.
• Partner with product management, operations, and data science to align with business goals.
