Job summary

Uber’s Consumer Incentives team is building AI-powered optimizations to improve consumer experiences across grocery and food verticals. This Senior Machine Learning Engineer role is based in New York, NY (onsite) and covers end-to-end ML product development from scoping to production deployment and post-launch maintenance.

You will design and deploy scalable systems, collaborate with product, operations and data science, and own projects end-to-end with strong ownership and communication skills.

Qualifications

Job description

Uber’s Consumer Incentives team is building AI-powered optimizations that aim to improve consumer experiences across verticals such as grocery and food. In this Senior Machine Learning Engineer role, you will work across the full machine learning product lifecycle, from scoping and offline evaluation to production deployment and post-launch maintenance.

This position is based in New York, NY (onsite) and supports end-to-end development of scalable, distributed systems and algorithms designed to perform at scale.

What you’ll do

• Architect and launch products that drive key consumer experience and business outcomes.
• Own full project lifecycles, including initial scoping, offline evaluation, experimental testing, production deployment, and post-launch maintenance.
• Design, tune, and enhance systems and algorithms to operate at scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners across product management, operations, and data science.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, plus 4+ years of full-time engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience building and productionizing end-to-end machine learning systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners.
• A strong sense of ownership to drive projects end-to-end.

Compensation and eligibility

The salary range for this New York, NY location is USD 202,000 - 224,000 per year.
