Coinbase is seeking an experienced ML Engineer to architect and ship Agentic AI systems for compliance automation. You will lead the ML direction for agent-based solutions, design evaluation frameworks, and collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Operations to translate complex regulatory workflows into automated technical specifications.

The role requires deep expertise in LLM applications, prompt engineering, and responsible AI practices, with a focus on auditable, regulatorily defensible

Qualifications

• 8+ years in machine learning and software engineering with production experience in LLM-based or Agentic AI apps.
• Expertise in LLM application development including prompt engineering, RAG, grounding, and guardrail design.
• Proven track record building evaluation/monitoring systems for ML models in production.

Responsabilités

• Architect and build production Agentic AI systems for compliance automation, including LLM-powered agents and orchestration pipelines.
• Own the ML technical direction for compliance agents, including model selection and guardrail design for regulatorily defensible outputs.
• Design evaluation frameworks to quantify agent performance, detect hallucinations/drift, and ensure auditability for regulators.
• Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Operations to translate regulatory workflows into automatable specs and automation vs. human-in-the-loop decisions.
• Mentor engineers on ML system design, LLM patterns, and responsible AI practices.
