Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer for the Compliance Automation team. You will architect and deploy agentic AI systems to automate compliance processes with auditable outputs and regulatorily defensible designs.

You will own ML direction, drive model selection, prompting, grounding, and guardrails while partnering with Compliance stakeholders to translate regulatory workflows into automation.役

Qualifications

• 8+ years in machine learning and software engineering.
• Experience shipping LLM-based or Agentic AI apps to production.
• Strong Python proficiency with GenAI frameworks and ML infra.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build production Agentic AI systems for compliance automation, incl. LLM-powered agents and decision support workflows.
• Own ML technical direction for compliance agents, including model selection and grounding strategies.
• Design evaluation frameworks to quantify agent performance, detect hallucinations and drift, ensure auditability.
