Job summary

Waymo is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for 3D Object Detection (PhD New Grad) to join the Perception team. In this hybrid role you will report to a Technical Lead Manager and work on learning spatial-temporal representations for autonomous driving.

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent, or deep learning experience.
• 3+ years experience in Machine Learning and Computer Vision.
• Experience with Python and ML frameworks like PyTorch or JAX.

Responsibilities

• Own tasks in the ML Driver, scale tasks, and create ML methods.
• Analyze behavior of ML systems in real-world applications and identify root causes.
• Monitor ML systems in production and develop AI-aided debugging tooling.
• Develop and maintain metrics for ADV relevant issues, including safety-critical issues.
